You probably noticed at least one big change to Li360 in the last few days - we have a map on the home page! We wanted to provide site users with a familiar interface and give them a way to visualize their community. @Peter Horsbøll Møller? is working with a team of product engineers to continuously improve it. Look for his post soon describing the map and build process.
What else has changed? Many of the other changes are more subtle.
- My Messages: In the drop down menu next to your name is a new choice that shows the messages you have received from and sent to other community members.
- Contact a Moderator: We added a button on the home page whereby you can directly contact a moderator with any questions. While public questions are always encouraged because the answer will probably help other members, we wanted to give members a discrete way to get the answers they need.
- MapInfo Pro Resource Center: We added a page that should be particularly useful to new MapInfo Pro users and people transitioning to the ribbon interface in the 64-bit version, to provide a learning curriculum for each client segment. When the new version of MapInfo Pro is introduced in April we'll include a new tab for upgrade support.
- Event calendar: The calendar now defaults to 'all' events. Before the default view was 'recently viewed,' but if no events had been viewed before the page was blank! Now members will see the full list.
- User permissions: Some members could not edit and delete their own posts. This has been fixed.
- Article tracking: We now have improved insight on which articles and discussions are most accessed, improving our knowledge of what are the best performing pieces so we can create more like that.
- Top trending articles and content recommendations: These two items are now shown on the right rail of the home page so that they are more easily accessed.
We hope these changes make your Li360 use more satisfying. As always, we welcome your feedback on these changes, and suggestions for further improvements needed.
