  • 1.  A good way of saving a new table with a set of selected points?

Hi, can someone please suggest a good way of saving a new table with a set of selected points? I loose my data when I try doing it by saving it in the Cosmetic layer.

    Hello Antoni,

Copying a selection to the Cosmetic Layer and then saving it as a new table, will not copy the attributes across. To save the selection of points on a map as a separate table, it should be done by going to the Home tab > Save Copy As. This way it saves all the attribute data for the selection and creates a new table. ?

Also, if you are using a 32 bit version of MapInfo Pro, the Save Copy As command is in the File menu.

The Cosmetic Layer is just as it says - cosmetic. Good for drawing cosmetic shapes and adding cosmetic text. Any serious work should be saved to a table in it's own right.
