  • 1.  Sort Workflow Action Details

    Hello,

    Does anyone know how to sort the order that workflow action details send via email? We have the form ordered as we'd like but the email appears to be random. We'd like them to be listed in the same order in the email as on the form.

    So you have an Action form followed by an email node in a Govern workflow and are using the option to include all form fields in the email body? is the field called "Action Details"..?

    You could of course use the individual fields form the action form in the email and set the entire email very manually but it whichever order you wanted. Its a fair bit of work if you have lots of fields on the action form but would get would what you needed

    HI John! "Action details" is an out-of-the-box workflow feature where all items from the action form can be pasted into email notifications/form descriptions. For some reason, they don't paste in the same order as listed on the form. Good point on the manual list - definitely an option in the interim of an enhancement!

    Received Screen prints and we have created Enhancement ticket for your request because as of no way to do that.

    Hello Marisa,

    Product Management has reviewed your request and we cannot make Enhancement request for this.

    As user configures the Form and all it’s fields. You can add the Action fields individually to the email in the order that you create the Form. The [ACTION_DETAILS] token itself is not going to ever know how the Form Description is configured.

    Hi Suhas - Just want to confirm your comment. I was thinking that sort order should be an option, and that action details would reflect the sort order. This is what they're saying they won't do?

    Not a deal breaker by any means - just opens us up to more user error as we post field by field in the email.

    Hi Marisa,   there was a misunderstanding with this issue.   When you said 'Form' it was interpreted as the Workflow Form that is filled out after the workflow was initiated,  not the Action Form that is filled out upon take action.  It is reasonable to expect that the order of the fields on the Action Form itself is the order they are displayed using the [ACTION_DETAILS] token.  I will review and see how it's working now and if it's a simple thing to make them the same.
