    Hi Everyone,

We have been introducing the side panel in the last few releases of Govern as a new pattern throughout the application in order to provide a simple and consistent user experience to see details, more context, about whatever item you're looking at. Also, to give you a simple and meaningful way to see more information about any subsequent relevant items you may be interested in. You've seen it with Profiling data and with the latest release available on asset list grids. We wanted to share the UI concept with you to show you where we are going, how the side panel will look throughout Govern, and give you an opportunity to provide any feedback. Please take a look and let us know what you think!

    Thanks!

I like the side panel details, it aligns to modern UX design and looks good. Couple of items of caution is configuration. If a client does not have or want commentary, profiling I hope these can be switched off and dosent show empty tabs. Also for embedding (white-labeling) the product either within other Precisely products or licensed to 3rd parties you should to be careful of certain things such as open in a new tab may not work or even be possible. I especially like the reduction of white space so having layouts or being able to have multi-column displays of properties is a huge improvement. Overall I like the style and direction, but want to make sure that embedded capabilities and design are considered in future design.

Looks good to me, I like the consistency being applied across the many different views/sections, especially in the Workflow Monitor. I do echo Patrick's comments about the Profiling tab at the asset level, we are not likely to enable that any time soon so if we could prevent that tab from appearing that would be ideal.

    Hi Pat, Justin,

Thanks for the feedback. The components of the side panel will be available only if supporting data is available for the type/asset.

For example, if you have profiles for a subset of columns, you will see the profile tile in the side panel for the column asset list grid. If you go to the details of a column with no profiles, you will not see the profile tile.

If you go to the asset list grid for a type with no profiles in the entire type, the profile tile will not show (you will see the information tile only).

    Thanks,

    Franco

Thanks <x-zendesk-user data-user-name="Franco Primavesi">366254200708</x-zendesk-user> what about other tabs such as Comments which we want to hide as we will be delivering out own collaboration tool that covers the full platform we are delivering not just the embedded catalog. Workflow we are not licensed for, we are just using catalog so hoping this feature is removable also.
