  • 1.  Error reading Excel file

    Posted 06-02-2017 10:01

Using the Excel file node, I get the following error for certain xlsx files.

"Error reading Excel file (C:/Users/.../XYZ.xlsx) as type XLSX. Cause: 70"

It works with 4 files all from the same source, but when I add the 5th I get this error. They are all xslx files.

    Dear Massimo,

Thanks for reporting this issue.  I greatly appreciate it.

Would you mind telling me what version of DV you are using and what operating system DV is running on?  We have been working quite a bit on the Excel File node, and I want to make sure you have the latest version.

    Thank you,

    Rocco

Sure. I actually just re-downloaded DV today, so it's the May 27 version.

    I'm running Windows 10, Excel 2016.

    Dear Massimo,

Glad to hear you have the latest!

Would you mind posting a photo of your flow where you are reading in these five Excel files?  Also, would you mind posting a copy of the Excel file in question?  You can also e-mail the Excel file to me at help@lavastorm.com if you prefer.

    Thank you,

    Rocco

    Hi Rocco,

I tried it again just now and it worked... strange. I didn't change anything from before. It may still be something you want to look into?

    I'll try to re-create.

    Sounds great, Massimo.

If you can reproduce it, I would love to have a copy of the LNA of the data flow along with a copy of all the Excel files in question.  If you can't, then let's hope it does not come back!
