  • 1.  Issue with running Dataverse 3.0 alongside LAE 6.1

    Hi,

     

    After installing Dataverse I get an error "09/20/16 15:50:23 Error binding address /127.0.0.1:7721.  BRAIN Server may already be running: java.net.BindException - Address already in use: bind" in my old LAE 6.1 server console if i try to start LAE 6.1. In BRE I also get another message:

     

     

    Is it possible to run LAE 6.1 while also trying out the Dataverse beta and if so how could I fix this issue?

    Hello,

    The error "unable to connect to server with different major/minor version" looks like your Lavastorm software is trying to connect to the Dataverse server, as they are currently both running on the same server port.

    I've added a new article detailing how to change the ports used by Dataverse.  This should prevent future issues with running them both at the same time. 

    In the future, we will also be updating our installers to have Dataverse use a port other than 7721 to prevent conflicts like this.
