  • 1.  Error using JDBC node, appears to be caused by comment in query

    Posted 04-27-2017 17:41

    Hello,

A query that runs fine in two other query editors kept failing in Dataverse, using the JDBC node.  The error stated that a field could not be bound.  The query contained comments using two hyphens.  When I removed the commented lines the job succeeded.  I didn't test /* only --.

The JDBC node was connecting to MSFT SQL Server.

    Just a heads up.

    Thanks,

    Rob

    Dear Robert,

First of all, thank you for your many comments in our forum.  It's very exciting to see someone getting so much value from Dataverse.

As to your specific problem, I have researched it, and I can confirm that this issue only occurs with the single-line comment feature (i.e., the -- notation).  Using the multi-line comment notation (/* and */) does not cause this problem.

I have made a note of this issue and passed it along to our Engineering team.  Your ticket number is LAL-5952.

    I hope that helps.
