    Hello Support,

     Is there a dataverse version that will work on Windows Server 2008R2?

    Kevin,

    Assuming you are asking whether Dataverse can access SQL Server running on Windows Server 2008R2 the answer is yes.  Dataverse ships with sqljdbc4-4.2.jar which can access Microsoft SQL Server 2008R2.

    Hi Tim,

     Thanks no issues accessing SQL Server but trying to install and use dataverse on a remote machine that runs Windows Server 2008.

    Kevin,

    The Server OS's supported are listed in the Server Installation Guide - available here https://installers.lavastorm.com/Dataverse315/Server/Dataverse+Server+Installation+Guide.pdf.

    But in short, the only Windows OS currently supported by Dataverse is Windows Server 2012R2 64-bit.  We are planning to add support for Windows Server 2016 but have no plans to support Windows Server 2008 since that is already End of Life.

    That makes sense and should not be an issue. It has been great getting familiar with the tool and learning up on the functionality, there's alot to explore.

    Another question on it, is there a node (or built in properties within nodes) that could be used to remotely access files located on a windows server machine? No issues remotely accessing SQL server, but trying to understand if there's a way to load remote files into a database.
