Spectrum Spatial (SSA/LIM)

While I have been a long time user and supporter for IE browsers I have experienced faster initial map loading and more reliable sessions when using Chrome for end use of SSA.

What are your thoughts? What issues have you had when using IE for end use of SSA?

?We are restricted via IT policy to using IE and we have found that SSA sessions after a time, variable without a real pattern to use, come to a halt and the browser session needs to be restarted. In Chrome and Firefox, yes we are restricted to IE but there are always work arounds, SSA seems slightly more responsive and I have yet to come across the same halt to the session that we experience in IE.

We have experienced the exact same issue's in IE. Sessions in IE will freeze or map go blank after a period, slow to open/load initial map, just not a good reliable experience. Fortunately we can use Chrome and therefore promote this to users. I must add though, I still believe that IE should be the baseline or default browser used and just wished SSA would work properly within..

?@Andy d'Andilly? This has come up before and you said that you would hope to see it remedied in the 12.1 release. We have just updated to the latest and we are still recieving this issue.

Although our corporate browser is IE I've managed to get IT to install a link to SSA on our Citrix environment that opens it in Chrome.

This was required due to SSA's pitiful performance in IE (see my posting from September 11, 2017 at 8:30 AM). But to be fair to PB, they have provided screenshots and video grabs of SSA working perfectly well in IE.

I work from a PC and find that SSA is fastest in Opera, followed by Chrome and then Firefox. All three are perfectly acceptable.

Just to sum up the things on this thread:

We have been using SSA in all the supported browsers and devices and following has been the relative experience:

Works best with Google Chrome followed by Firefox and then on MS Edge and IE 11. We also certify it on Safari on Mac and it works fine. We don't certify SSA on Opera but it is good to know that it is fastest there.

For IE 11 in citrix environment, in the screen sharing session with one of our customer we found that the IE 11 was not the latest version and it did not work well because of the memory allocation to the citrix system.

Feel free to share any more information if you face while using SSA on a specific browser.
