Hi @Andy d'Andilly? ?after upgrading to 12.1 Spectrum Platform with SSA 12.1See Attachment

I have been doing some testing and I have an error in chrome (Version 62.0.3202.75 (Official Build) (64-bit)) when it first loads a map config. I believe this is when it is trying to load the quick queries to list in the left panel. The error also breaks other functionality.

The quick queries in the left panel in Internet Explorer work fine.

Also its really good to see the CPU in IE resting down around 1% when not in use -- Great work

Would be great to have the loading in Chrome investigated for a fix.

@Stuart Carter? -- thought you may wish to be aware as you primarily use chrome

    cheers

    Hi Peter,

Sorry to hear, that you are having issues on Chrome. Our engineering team tried some basic things and were not able to replicate the issue. Can you please try to run the same steps in chrome incognito tab (https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95464?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en) and verify if this issue still exists.

    Thanks,

    Rahul

Thanks for the heads up on that, Peter. I was planning on going to 12.1 sometime late in November or early December. I’ll keep an eye on this issue.

Hi Peter, I have requested the QA team look in to this as a matter of urgency. If you have any further information please feel free to share. Regards Andy

Hi @Rahul Mahajan? , I haven't done that as yet as I think its more to do with something else.

I have noticed in Internet explorer that the quick search queries are appearing when the option is not enabled in the map configuration in analyst admin. I have not changed this as yet and is currently disabled. The logic test for this is most likely what is breaking in chrome.?

    cheers

    HI @Rahul Mahajan? , @Andy d'Andilly? , @Stuart Carter?

Ok I have found the fix for this, to correct this error you need to visit each of your existing map configs and select and deselect the options for the quick search then save the changes.?

The angular filter is looking for configuration settings that as yet do not exist.

Problem solved 😂  maybe add this to the information in the upgrade document or roll this into the upgrade installer process.

    cheers

I received an identical error when upgrading a server to 12.1. Refreshing/dropping the browser cache appeared to resolve the issue.

    HI @Mitchell Holliday?

While the map appeared to be fine in IE? in chrome it had an error. In Analyst admin the options to show the quick search was not enabled but was showing in IE. Hence something was up with the configs not having the required data for chrome / angular js  to access.

Saving the map configs to force the new settings fixed the issue. This just needs to be done once for each map configuration you have in Analyst.

If you do have a map configuration that hasn't been saved since the upgrade, opening it in chrome will error even though others don't.

    cheers

Hi @[Peter van Dijk]? there looks to be to two separate issues here. The screen shot you posted is related to the browser caching some older js files after the upgrade. This can be worked around by dropping the browser cache. It looks like chrome may be more aggressive it caching particular files than IE.

After your last post I did some further investigation you are correct about the quick search options. It appears that the setting is not correctly honored on a mapconfig that has been updated from v12 until you save the mapconfig in the updated v12.1 admin console. As such the new quick search functionality may appear in the left panel when the admin console reports it as disabled.

    Hi @Mitchell Holliday?,

I'll admit chrome holds on to things for a bit longer, I couldn't be certain this caused the initial error though as chrome was last opened an hour previously. I definitely would have though it had loaded and opened a fresh session as it was the first time it ran 12.1 on the day.

With this in mind I might set it to clear cache on closing the application just to certain of the actions its taking.

Everything else seems to be working ok in SSA 12.1 so far, I have a few more tests to run through though.

    Thanks for your feedback

    cheers

    ?Hi @Rahul Mahajan?

Would chrome incognito mode helped to isolate and ensure that the chrome cache was loaded fresh for the page?

I apologise if this is so as I could have saved my self some head scratching and solved some part of the initial issue.

    cheers

Hi Peter, Yes fresh/new incognito mode (CTRL+SHIFT+N) is same as clearing cache & would also help to verify the fix. We are also going to look into long-term fix for such issue in our upcoming release.

    Thanks, Rahul Mahajan.
