    Hello!

    I've just made up a group of thematic maps, gave the legend of each of the thematic maps a name that makes sense, turned off "all others" in the legend options.

    When I upload to SSA I have the right style and the right labels in the legend for the thematic map, but the tables have their original names, the legend title is gone and the "all others" has popped back up again

    Changing the name of all of the files is not ideal but not impossible. However it would mean if I had a file in another workspace I'd either have to keep a copy or change the other workspace/s

    Any ideas? Pics below

    This is the thematic map set-up in MI

    See Attachment

    And this is how it is displayed in SSA - with the legend title gone and replaced with the table name, and the "all others" back in the legend

    See Attachment

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Rebecca, you might rename the table/layer name into the MI Pro Layer Control - just click on the mouse left, select Rename and set the friendly name. I'd suggest to rename the layers using the application "WindowHelper 3.0 x64" developed by Peter. You might find this solution in the Download MapInfo product tab in LI360. You might change the thematic layer name. It will be appear from the second one (no the first one) in the SSA legend. Thanks. Monica

    See Attachment In this example the second layer POS_Monica is a renamed layer, the first one "Stelle" is a thematic layer renamed.

    Rebecca, what version of MapInfo Pro and Analyst are you working with? Any maps uploaded by the tool released for MapInfo Pro 16 and v12 of Analyst and Spectrum Spatial should not display the all others theme. The layer names do come from the layer control where you can rename them and give them any friendly name you wish. Those will show up in the legend. As of now, the Legend Title is not a part of the map properties.

    Thanks for the replies!

    I'm using MI v12.5 and even with the WindowHelper installed there doesn't appear to be an option to rename the tables.

    I'm in the process of updating SSA now, just waiting on IT

    Thanks!

    You're welcome Rebecca. I would suggest to move to last releases - so you'll get the rename and the latest SSA features - so MapInfo Pro 16 64bit and SSA 12.

    Rebecca, as Monica ?mentioned, the new uploader that works with version 16 and Spectrum Spatial and Analyst 12.0 takes care of the all others bin issue as well as the ability to name the layers in MapInfo Pro which will cascade automatically to the server.  There are quite a number of improvements as well involving thematics and labels.

    Let us know how the upgrade goes!

    Hi Rebecca,

    You need to remove the ‘all others’ entry in the ‘edit selected range’ box in the Customize Legend window in MapInfo.

    Upload it again. It will then no longer show in the SSA legend. Although you may need to clear you browser cache to see the changes (depends on your local settings and browser).

    Regards,

    Stuart (Southwark Council)

    Hi Stuart

    As you can see in my screen shots above, I already did that.

    For the others who may be still following...

    I had been advised to update my MI, SSA and SSA platform. So I did as instructed. Everything looked good in 64bit MI, I went to upload and SSA wouldn't work anymore, it wouldn't accept my password.

    After speaking to technical support I was advised that the latest release of both analyst and the platform available on the download page are not compatible with each other. I was also advised that we would be emailed when a new compatible release was available.

    Shortly after I got the following email;

    ---

    Dear Spectrum Spatial Analyst Customer,

    Many Spectrum Spatial Analyst (SSA) customers received a communication prompting them to upgrade their Spectrum platform to version 12.1. If you received this email, please do not upgrade Spectrum until after the new version of SSA is released later this month. When the new version of SSA is available, we will send an email to let you know to proceed with your upgrade.

    Thanks and sorry any confusion,

    The Pitney Bowes Team

    ---

    So I went back through my emails and found the following in regards to product releases;

    16/09/2017 - Spectrum Technology Platform – 12.0 SP1 Release Announcement

    23/09/2017 - Spectrum Technology Platform Product Update 11.1 S55

    28/09/2017 - Spectrum Technology Platform 11.1 S53 Product Update

    29/09/2017 - Spectrum Technology Platform Product Update 10.1 S52

    Since then I've also gotten the following;

    25/10/2017 - Spectrum Technology Platform 12.1 S03 Product Update

    25/10/2017 - Spectrum Technology Platform 12.0 S31 Product Update

    26/10/2017 - Spectrum Technology Platform 11.1 S57 Product Update

    So I'm sure everyone can see where the confusion has come from!

    In the meantime IT has attempted to rollback to a compatible version, which failed, so in the end IT has created a new virtual server for Spectrum.

    Hopefully this week I will have access back!

    I'd also like to note that IT read the release notes before updating, and there was no mention of incompatibility and IT is also confused by the release emails.

    Hi, I’m sorry to hear that the fix I use isn’t working for you. Its works every time for me!

    Hi Rebecca,

    First let me apologize, it would appear you have been given different information or no information. As the new Product Manager for SSA, it is something I want to help put right.

    To resolve the issue you need to apply patches S18 and S22 for Spectrum 12.0 and S01 for SSA. Patch S22 specifically provided a new uploader, which needs to be downloaded and used to replace your old uploader, doing so should resolve the issue. This fixes : including any modified range thematic label text and removing the all others style. However, the new uploader will require MapInfo Professional 16 (64 bit).

    This should have been explained in the documentation. I can only apologise if that wasn't the case.

    Regards

    Andy

    Thanks Stuart, I think it's just a version issue, the version I was using didn't fix it, but the newer version of MI *should* fix it once everything is working.

    Thanks Andy. IT has been talking directly with technical support so hopefully everything will be right to go. I am not testing it just yet as we have PB working on installing the Authority link up and I may as well wait until it is completed.
