  • 1.  If you are using the Bing base mapping - Is there an easy way to determine what the Bing co-ordinates are for the centre/initial view of your map configuration

John, right now you have to find the coordinates elsewhere, for instance in MapInfo Pro.

With the 12.1 release coming out later this year, you will be able to see t he center coordinates and probably also the extents of the map directly in SSA Connect.

Yeah, but which projection? It's not long/lat. It seems to be in metres - is that correct??

Popular Mercator... Just open any of the Bing tile server tables in MapInfo Pro and you should see the correct coordinates

    Doh!!

Yes - if you don't have another layer in long/lat then you do get the co-ordinates in metres?. Thanks Peter - time for the weekend.

It seems a bit of a difficult method to set the bounds - can we not have a simple map UI to define the bounds?

It is quite cumbersome, Joe. An improved UI is part of the long term road map. For v12.1, we hope to at least be able to present the user with the center coordinates and bounds of the current map directly in Spectrum Spatial Analyst
