    Hi Jemima,

We have over 300 customers globally using SSA, both internally and externally. What makes SSA even more special, is the ability to actually use the system to enhance existing business processes. We have a number of customers that have used the system to build end-2-end processes that embed elements of the SSA product direct in to a fault reporting process, then feeds that information direct to confirm the PB asset management system. I have included a few more examples of live sites and also sites that have delivered the fault reporting process.

    Blue Mountains City Council: http://emapping.bmcc.nsw.gov.au/connect/analyst/mobile/?mapcfg=Locality#/main?mapcfg=Locality

Cheshire East Council (Street Light Fault Report Process): https://www.cheshireeasthighways.org/report-it-street-lighting.aspx

Buckinghamshire County Council (Pothole Reporting Process): http://www.transportforbucks.net/Report-it-pothole.aspx

North Yorkshire County Council (Largest council in UK - By area), they have multiple maps showing different services and information: https://www.northyorks.gov.uk/maps

    Torfaen County Borough Council :http://gis.torfaen.gov.uk:8010/connect/analyst/mobile/?mapcfg=Public%20View?=en_GB#/main?mapcfg=Public%20View

We do have more, but please if you have any questions or request further information please free free to ask on here or contact your organisation PB Client Manager.

    Regards

    Andy

Thank you for your help. I particularly like how some councils have utilised it for reporting purposes as well as viewing. ?

    Hi Jemima,

Yeah that is a good example of channel shift. The migration and automation of fault reporting can provide local authorities with significant savings, improved business data and business decisions. I have first-hand experience on achieving this. It is estimated that about 40% of a councils public transactions contain a spatial component, I used this to calculate automating and migrating (face-to-face and Phone) transactions over to web transaction. However, I only concentrated on Street Light reports, with a focus on shifting 20% of transactions. I estimated that over the year, my former employer could save £200k+ from channel shift alone. It is also possible then to use the web mapping system to display known faults directly to the end user (public, customer, citizen) and achieve additional saving and efficiencies through avoidable contact.

Not only will the organisation see financial saving directly from better engagement with the public/customers/citizens, they will also see a significant improvement in data quality, resource planning and customer satisfaction.

This is a few years old, but it’s worth reading. https://www.local.gov.uk/understanding-and-implementing-effective-channel-shift

Hi, I'm interested to know how to pull data from SSA into a webpage like the Cheshire example. In particular we want to pull coordinates from a users click on the embedded SSA map into a form. Can you point us in the right direction to where some documentation is?

We have embedded our SSA map following this method.

    Thanks.
