Failure to export more than 10,000 records from a query in SSA.

 

In SSA 12.2.1 has anybody else noticed that any export of a query that has more than 10,000 only exports 10,000 records. So, for example...

 

1) create a circle annotation in SSA (to cover an area that you know will capture more than 10,000 records from a point layer).

2) Run a query to capture all records from that point layer within the circle

3) See results in left side panel (norte that it finds more that 10,000 records)

4) Click overflow icon (three dots) and select 'Export all pages as CSV'.

5) Open the exported CSV in Excel. Note that only 10,000 records are shown in Excel

 

 

Even if you view the export in a text editor, only 10,000 records are exported.

Hey Stuart,

I just tested this using a polygon layer, selected 16,700 records and exported in seconds, seems good here on V12.1. The ability to export many records is a must for us, you would have heard me from here if it wasn't working for us. Have you tested on other object types?

Might be 12.2/12.2.1 specific. Can only confirm what Tony has said above. Can export over 10,000 records nice and quick using 12.1 with any annotation or entire region as query region.

Thanks for that, Tony. Yes, it’s an essential element of SSA and hugely frustrating that it’s not working in v12.2.1. PB have told me that SSA has always had a 10,000 query export limit. I knew that wasn’t the case but without a time machine I couldn’t prove it. Now I can! This is very useful. Regards, Stuart

Stuart that was tested against points layer, and I did a further check against a mixed points,line, region layer. Only have one region layer with more than 10,000 objects but it contains an unexpected character sequence in the data that throws SSA into error at the moment. I'll fix that and query against it then report back.

Edit - Region layer fixed (special character '#' used in column name). Can export 20,687 records from SSA to CSV.

No, that’s’ fine. No need. I just wanted to know if it was against a points layer. PB has confirmed that a 10,000 export limit was incorrectly placed into v12.2.1. They are working on a patch / hot fix now for it. Regards, Stuart
