  • 1.  WARNING - TOP TIP

    WARNING / TOP TIP:

If you upgrade to SSA 12.2.1 (the latest patch), ensure you make a back up of Program Files\Pitney Bowes\SpectrumSpatialAnalyst\ before upgrading.

I found that all map layer that had painstakingly been assigned to custom templates in Admin Console had bounced back to the default template after 12.2.1 was installed.

I'm waiting on it to be confirmed by PB, but I strongly suspect this is a bug in 12.2.1 (I'm happy to stand corrected, of course).

Fortunately you can recover the situation by using a file from your Program Files\Pitney Bowes\SpectrumSpatialAnalyst\ back up.

After upgrading to 12.2.1 take a copy of CalloutInfoTemplateDefinitions.xml in your back of Program Files\Pitney Bowes\SpectrumSpatialAnalyst\customerconfigurations\analyst and place into your live Program Files\Pitney Bowes\SpectrumSpatialAnalyst\customerconfigurations\analyst folder, replacing the new one in 12.2.1.

Your custom template mappings will return. Or at least it did for me!

Hi @Stuart Carter? thanks we're going to investigate. As you saw the CalloutInfoTemplateDefinition.xml has the list of the custom templates .ts files now with this new release, and not more the list of html files of the old SSA release. Hoping this helps you, Please, have a look at this post with a presentation and information of how moving custom templates to the new release.

Thanks, but I've already done that. My originally assigned custom templates are now assigned as they were before moving to 12.2.1.

My point was that those thinking about moving to 12.2.1 should be made aware that their custom template assignments will fall back to 'default' when they upgrade - I wasn't warned and it was a nasty shock. And that they need to take a copy of CalloutInfoTemplateDefinition.xml and put it back in place afterwards.
