  • 1.  Can we keep a configurable search option to find the Polygons associated with a name,Number or any other attribute?

    I would like to know if we can configure polygon search option just like Geocoding data in SSA? So that when we search by name or any other attribute associated with the polygon then the polygons shows up. User would not be interested to use the query capabilities , they want a simple search just like our address search.

    I know we can write a custom code in the template and keep the search query behind it. But it will look like the same query building

    Hi Krishna

     

    It is not possible in SSA 12.1 to customise the way the address search works.

     

    However in SSA 12.2 (due end of April) we have added the ability to create your own UI components which can be added to SSA. One code example we have created to showcase the capability is a custom address search component which does what you ask. It replaces the regular address search component but instead of searching addresses it lets the user search against 3 feature tables and shows the results. Once user selects a feature from the results the selected feature is then shown on the map as a highlighted polygon.

     

    I am not sure if you have had access to a pre-release of 12.2 already? If not we can provide the docs and sample code on how to create your own extensions. These are in draft form at the moment.

    Hi @Mustafa Ismail?  i am using 12.1. No, as of now i dint have access to 12.2. Looking forward to the resources that you can share
