  • 1.  Is it possible to mass resend a PO output message

    Posted 10-18-2021 16:27
    Hi all,

I have been trying to find a way to mass resend a PO output message with no luck up to now.  Has anyone else had any better luck doing this? The closest I can get is repeating a message output if it is in a particular position in the list of messages. Unfortunately, that will not always be consistent.

Any help at all would be appreciated.

    Hi Jason

    Not my area of expertise.

I did some searching, and found one post that looked hopeful:  https://answers.sap.com/questions/9015002/re-issue-po-output.html

I also wonder if going into the PO itself and clicking Message and Repeat Output would work.

Hope that gives you a few ideas.  Anyone with more expertise - please feel free to weigh in.

    Best Regards,
    Sigrid

    Hi Jason,

Did you try executing the transaction ME9F?  This is Message Output for PO and can be used to re-output message types.  I believe we used it within a batch job so it might also work with WinShuttle scripts.

I did try this, but in order to repeat an output you must go into each one individually.  I have over 1,000 POs to send.  This is not a practical solution for me.

Winshuttle will automate it, but only of the position of the message within the list remains constant, which it will not always be  in our case.

    Hey Jason -

You could record in GUI Scripting recording mode and then use "If on Index" within the mapper to find the row of the output type that you would want to repeat output on.

    Good luck!

That sounds great, but I have no idea how to do that.  Do you have some materials I can review?

    Jason,

The transaction ME9F does allow for lists of PO numbers as part of the selection criteria as well as output types.  As a thought you might be able to use data from the NAST table for the PO's for output as it contains Medium which is the form of output.  You could then execute subsets of data based upon Medium type (print, email, edi, etc) to reduce the 1000 lines of processing however there would still be multiple processes to be executed.

There seems to be a method for outputting multiple messages with a single print request but not sure if this works for you.

Unfortunately I currently do not have SAP or WinShuttle access so I couldn't test out the theory.  Jennifer's answer will probably prove easier
