Hello everyone,

I'm attempting to create a script that is able to go into a purchase req. and add text to both the header as well as the item text of each item.  Ideally I would be able to use ME52N to both update/create lines as well as updating the text.  

I am running into an error "Runtime error RAISE_EXCEPTION has occurred".  I have tried both using 10 and 1 as the item number.  Does anyone have insight to what is causing this error or had experience getting the long text to work?

Please try checking the Start SAP GUI option on the RUN tab.  Here's a support article offering up that option:  https://support.winshuttle.com/hc/en-us/articles/360023691191-Runtime-Error-RAISE-EXCEPTION-has-Occurred  or recording in BATCH mode.  

If you are doing more than just using the WFM method of entering long text:  https://docs.winshuttle.com/studio-en-12-1-x-online-help-studio-w-connect/12/Record-long-text.htm  in your recording, please consider recording in BATCH mode for the ME5xN or ME2xN tcodes.

Recording it in batch, having it start SAP GUI, and a few first transaction only conditions later and it is working exactly as I needed it to.
