    Hi,
    We have a CT04 script to add values to existing characteristics, but having performance issue due to high volume in the input files.

    Instead of CT04 recording, can we use new custom function module /WINSHTLQ/TRN_MT_CLASIFICATION? 
    We just want to pass 3 attributes to accomplish the same:
    - characteristics name
    - value
    - value descripion

    Does anyone have an example of this Direct script built using /WINSHTLQ/TRN_MT_CLASIFICATION?

    Hi Ocal

    That function module will allow you to get class characteristics in an SAP object, like a material, add (classes) and update characteristic values.  I did a Wuginar on it:  https://www.winshuttle.com/assets/webinar-how-to-automate-class-characteristics-in-studio/ 

    If I understand your question, CT04 is meant to create or modify characteristics, which it doesn't do.

    Thanks for providing the link for Wuginar...it looks very helpful.

    Correct - I just need to update Characteristics with new values added. So /WINSHTLQ/TRN_MT_CLASIFICATION only works against an object table and key like MARA/Material ? I was thinking we may be able to leverage the same RFM for updating only characteristics master data but thanks for clarifying that.
    I am also checking BAPI_CHARACT_CHANGE as an option.
