Having a hard time working with COOIS t-code with status. Looking for ideas are directions to take. I have attached the step by step that is done as well as where I am a query. When I try to filter down status it will not return any data. Is it due to the connection? What other approaches should I take?

    Hi Benjamin

Am not an expert in this area but can try to help once I'm a bit clearer on where you need help.

    • From your document, I see you're using COOIS to generate a list of production orders.  From there you're going into CO02 to make a total quantity update, I believe.

    • You also share a query and are saying you're having issues with the status.  When I look at your query, you have data, including a status, although it appears to be different from your status in COOIS.

If you are after the system status string, you could use a transaction script to read it out of SAP using CO02 or CO03.

So I'm confused on what you need help with.  Do you need help scripting the quantity change in CO02?  Are you missing something from your query?  Please advise with specifics, and we can try to help you.

    Best Regards,
    Sigrid

Sorry for the confusion. After more review and braking down each table and seeing how each table works with each other where my issue is when connecting the AUFK (Order master data) table to JEST (Object Status). When I run each of the tables AUFK and JEST on there own I get data (more data then I need) data extracts very quickly. Joining them by OBJNR Object number I am able to run number of entries and get a result back back very quickly. But when I run the query it will time out and no data will show up. What the ask is, is to look for production orders that are status I0074 (PDLV Partially delivered) and return the order number to MRP controller and total order quantity and goods received for the order.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hi Benjamin
Thanks for the clarification - SAP is a big 'beast'. :)

I rebuilt your query from scratch.  We have no data except my one entry, so you'll have to try it.
    An observation
    • I started with just AUFK to JEST and the TJ02T
    • then added AFPO and AFKO, joining them to AUFK, which is the table I started with
    • then added MAKT for the material description
I find that when you start with a table and then join the rest to it, limiting the number of joins between tables (for example, most have order number, but I wouldn't join them all to each other), it runs more efficiently.  You didn't do anything wrong creating your query, it's just an observation after having built a bunch of queries.

If you're still timing out, consider enabling throttling with chunking, which will keep the connection to SAP alive.

    Thank you
I ended up using a two step as I could not limit the orders to just the one. Thank you as this did help give me the Idea to go this direction. The chain script I have is two queries and then a load  that will run every day. Thanks again!

    Hi Benjamin

You can change the criteria to run for more.  I just had one entry in our entire SAP system :)    But glad you found a way that works!
