A transaction like QE51N can act as an entry point to additional transactions, which are better for recording purposes. While QE51N lets you pull up a number of different inspection lots for update, you could just as easily go into the individual inspection lots using different transactions. I'm not sure what exact actions you are trying to take (usage decision, update lots, update samples, etc), but I've had better luck using transactions like QA11, QA02, and QPR2, instead of trying to record QE51N. You can also use the Query module of Studio to extract inspection lots using table QALS, if you wanted to do some kind of round trip.
