    Hello,

I  want to read, create and maintain Inspection Setup Data in Material Master Record. (Find on View Quality Management),

with information from attribute Average Inspection Duration.

So i started recording with transaction MM02, but it doesn`t work, i think looping is necessary, but i am not familar with loops.
First I want to read out exsting  data for all inspection types, second i want to complement new inspection types with information in attribute average inspection duration.

Do you have ideas or a solution how to solve that request via Winshuttle? I do not have rights and the knowledge to use BAPI, ist it possible only with Transaction?

    Best Regards
    Marco

    Hi Marco

First, you can find online training for Transaction here:  https://customers.elearning.winshuttle.com/learner/courseinfo/id:138  It includes some basic info on looping.

Second, the QM  view in itself is not difficult to automate, but inspection setup is tough.  Why:
    1. each type seems to have a different set of fields - see below screen shots
similar fields but not the same.  You will either have to
    - use a different script for each inspection type
    - if enough fields are similar, use IF logic to skip over or include fields based on the inspection type.
The training link above covers some basics on IF logic.

    2. Insert is simple - click the new inspection types button
    add one
but then we're back to tricky with the details, because the fields may be different

    3. there is no positioning to find a row to update or delete.  You will have to use GUI scripting for that with an Indexed IF to find the right row.  That means you'll have to capture the inspection type, which is a read only field, to be the "index", and simple enough to do by leveraging the pop-up to include disabled fields.  This is also covered in the training link I shared above.

Hope this information helps you, in general.  If you need personalized training or assistance, please reach out to your rep, who can engage with our services team.

    Hi again Marco,

I am attaching an example for 2 different inspection types (01 and 02) with a loop.

    • It's created in GUI scripting mode
    • It uses Indexed IF to position to the right inspection type based on a column of data I added to the template.
    • It uses a few IF statements to skip fields that are in 01 but not 02
    • It uses a loop to go through multiple inspection types
    • I added some excel conditional formatting to grey out columns that aren't applicable to inspection type 02  - something that helps with usability if you are not creating separate scripts for each inspection type
    • There is an additional sheet that has the screen shots of the fields for each as an example.

Please remember it's very specific to my system, so it's only meant to be an example of how you might approach it.

    Best Regards,
    Sigrid

Provided that it is activated in Your SAP system then You can use QA08 rather than MM02 to maintain inspection type setup data.
The GUI scripting is not needed, standard recording can be used.
Go via the tab "Mass Processing" and loop by material, plant and Inspection type.

    Nice tip, Steen!

I don't use the QA tcodes much, so this is a nice to know.
