Hi Krista
I'm not 100% sure this will fix your issue, but please look at Options in Studio - under Data Settings. You will see something like this:

Try unchecking the trim leading spaces, and if you like trailing, but I think it's the leading spaces you want to keep.
Please note this setting is not script specific.
Best Regards,
Sigrid

Subject: Classification Values with Leading Spacers
Hello - I have an MM01 script to extend a material to the classification view. The script creates a class and then within that class there are various characteristics with values. Some characteristics have predetermined values and some are user entry. There are some characteristics with predetermined values that have spaces in front. For example " DMD". I want Winshuttle to enter the value exactly as the user enters, with the space however Winshuttle is ignoring the space and since the predetermined value in the characteristic includes the space I am getting an error that "DMD" is not a valid value. I don't want to ALWAYS prepad the value with spaces because depending on the class, the value may not need a space in front. It really just depends on how the user enters it. Is there a way to write a formula that says something like "if the value in the template has a space in front, THEN prepad with a space?"
