By VDI, I'm assuming it's a virtual desktop? I'm also not sure what you mean by start and restart - is the restart automatic?
Overall, I have not heard of issues with Winshuttle running on virtual machines, as we have customers successfully running on them in all versions of Studio.
I'd suggest you open a support ticket and provide as much information as you can to best determine what is occurring.

Hello Community,
We recently upgraded Winshuttle from v10 to v 12.1. We are using VDI's. Our US and India teams sometimes encounter issues with the WinShuttle stopping and then restarting. We did not have these issues in v10. Has anyone experienced similar issues? If so is there a work-around?
