Hi Aneta
With cell-based mapping - any fields that don't repeat, i.e. are "header" data, would be mapped to a specific cell. Any line item fields would be mapped to a column. And you would process a single item - whether it's a sales order, PO, BOM, etc. So for a Sales order, sold to and ship to and PO number would be header and thus mapped to a cell, and item number and quantity would be mapped to a column.
With column-based mapping, all values are mapped to a column, and you can process as many items as you like, i.e. multiple sales orders, PO's, BOM's, etc.
You don't mix and match - it's one or the other.
Hope that helps,
Sigrid

Subject: Mapping Transaction Column mapping vs Cell Based Maping
Hi,
I am trying to map Transaction and have several values which will be updated using Column Mapping, but additionally I would like to use Cell Based Mapping for one of the values. So in the current file I had mapped A & D columns, and tried to map T4 as cell based Mapping, but received error: 'T4 is invalid column name for RV13A-DATBI(01) Please enter a column name between A and XFD'.
Could you please confirm if these two mappings are compatible?
What can be an issue?
Is there any way? How we can use one cell fixed value and for other cells use Columns?
Thank you and have a nice day.
BR,
Aneta
