    Hi,

Me and my team are aiming to automate the entire process of creating, changing and extending vendors in SAP (FK01, FK02) and would like to do this through Winshuttle. Our aim is to have all request dropped into a shared location in the data file format and then to schedule recurring Winshuttle runs to carry out these changes. The process seems to be pretty straightforward though we have already run into a number of issues and would appreciate any advice on trying to achieve this goal. The issues/queries I have are listed below:

    1. A scheduled Winshuttle runs in a popup window which is a nuisance for the person who has scheduled it. Is it possible to schedule the Winshuttle run on a virtual PC?

    2. A number of 'soft stops' in SAP seem prevent the Winshuttle from running data rows, i.e. clicking to confirm changes, approving proposed IBANs etc. When using debug these stops can be passed but these produce errors when only using Run. Can I embed instructions into the Winshuttle so that the scheduled run can bypass these stops?

    3. The data file will be overwritten after every run to hold new requests (and prevent duplicate entries/changes). If there have been no requests and thus the data file is empty will this interfere with the scheduled run?

    3. Any other information or advice you have would be much appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Hi Catherine,

    A few ideas:

The pop-up can't be suppressed for scheduled runs, but you can run it on a virtual machine.  You must ensure that the right user credentials are used for Studio on that VM.  For example, person1 can logon to the VM and had to login to Winshuttle with their credentials, and then schedule the run.  Person2, etc, would need to do the same.

For soft stops, the best you can do is find a path through the tcode that captures as many of the pop-ups as you possibly can, and then use the skip if not found option in Studio and/or IF logic to skip around it.

    Hope that helps,
    Sigrid
