  • 1.  MapXtreme 7.2 & 8.1

    Hi, I have a client with MapXtreme 7.2 desktop running a large system. They now need to move to Windows Server 2012 and Windows 10 (both 64-bit). Will their MXT 7.2 program run on those? I see WS 2012 is supported in the documentation, but not Windows 10.

    Also, if they need to migrate their MXT 7.2 Desktop program to MXT 8.1, what changes need to be made? Usually, we develop Web programs with MXT and have previously moved 7.2 programs to 8.1 with no problems. Is it the same with the Desktop?

    Hi,

    As Windows 10 was released after MapXtreme 7.2 but it should work fine as long as windows 10 supports Visual Studio 10 and .Net Framework 4.0.

    And upgrading from MapXtreme 7.2 to 8.1 should be fairly straight forward only requiring the recompilation of the code with latest binaries installed.
