    Therefore you should just be able to open up BRE, ensure that LAL is a base library (you can add it as a base library via Graph->Edit Base Libraries), then go to View->Dependent Libraries.
    Here you will see the version of LAL installed, via the tag on the lal1 library.
    e.g:
    My View->Dependent Libraries shows:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\LAE 4.6.1.1\lib\brain\brg\lal1.brg - LAL 2.19.0

    Which means I have LAL 2.19.0 installed.

    For a enterprise/workgroup server installation, I'm not sure that currently there is an easy way to determine this version from the files that the LAL install drops on the system.

    Perhaps someone else knows of how to determine this on the enterprise/workgroup server though.

    Regards,
    Tim.

    The only way that we have been able to keep track of the LAL version we are running on our server is to leave the script that runs the LAL in the directory that the LAE is installed.
    For instance we have LAE 5.1.0 installed here:/apps/lavastorm/lae/5.1.0 and we leave the version of LAL in that path: /apps/lavastorm/lae/5.1.0/Lavastorm_Analytics_Library_Pack-5_1_28_0_7-linux-x86-64.sh

    I would like to see some log file or conf file that says what LAL version we are running. on both desktop and server.

    I recently learned this thanks to our support team. With LAE version 5.0.1 and 5.1 the release notes for the LAL1 are added into a directory named <installDir>/docs/lal. You can open the release notes PDF file and see the version of LAL1 on the very first page.

    This also applies to Windows because the LAL1 release notes can be found under the <installDir>docs\lal1 directory. It can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Lavastorm > LAE 5.1 > Documents > LAL Release Notes
