    However, I'm pretty sure that it will actually mean that the license no longer works at all.
    The software will interpret such changes as an attempt to manipulate the license file & thereby render it invalid.

    For the same reason as you can't modify the expiry date on the license to extend your license period, or add more allowed CPU's or give yourself more features via license file modifications, you can't change the duration of the host lock.

    If you require floating licenses, or a different host-lock-duration, you should get in contact with your Lavastorm Sales / Support representative and they can talk to you about your options.

    However, the settings are the same by default, which is that on a desktop installation, the lock never expires (-1 setting I believe) and on enterprise and workgroup settings, the lock lasts for 72 hours.
