Do i need to make any additional changes for LAE 5.1 for oracle DB connectivity?

If you were using the 4.6 desktop edition and then upgraded to the 5.1 desktop edition, it should still work and connect to the Oracle database the same as before. Based on what you stated, I think you've done all the required configuration work.

Are doing this with the same graph or a maybe copy of the graph that was working in 4.6?

I have not upgraded LAE 4.6 to LAE 5.1.
my 4.6 License is expired hence got a license for LAE 5.1 desktop. I tried to execute the old graph (which was executing fine in 4.6) in LAE 5.1 however its not executing and giving the mentioned error. I also tried to create a new graph to test the DB connectivity however no luck.. It is also giving the same error msg.

kindly let me know what needs to be done to get it through.

I was just talking to someone on our support team about this. It turns out that this error was seen before by another user and it matches this very well.

The case was resolved by installing and using Oracle 11.2 replacing Oracle 10.2.

So does this mean that LAE 5.1 does not support Oracle 10 g. It will not be possible for me to use oracle 11g. Is there any workaround to resolve the issue? or do i need to go back for LAE 4.6?

You could also open a ticket with support to get a definite answer. What I'm seeing seems to indicate 10.2 should be supported. And the best way to do that is use the "Help -> Report Problem with a Node..." feature in BRE which compiles information together that support would want to have.

And the JDBC database nodes are an alternative that you usually can use to do the same things and the DB nodes.

Thanks Jones... I am sorry but not fine with the solution. I have shifted to LAE 5.1 as it has more features/nodes than 4.6 which we need to use. Hence would be continuing with this latest version only.

Please let me know how do i raise a ticket with Support as this problem needs to be resolved. If it is confirmed that LAE 5.1 does not support Oracle 10 g then we may need to think for other options.

It sounds to me like the Oracle drivier is not finding TNSNAMES properly.

Hi..

Starting the tread again.. I am still not able to connect to Oracle using LAE 5.1.
I have tried the given code and found that ORACLE_HOME parameter is not listed. Please let me know what do i need to do in this case.
