Generally, looking at release notes is a great place to start, and will frequently identify backwards compatibility issues (and settings that may help work around them) and highlight new features as well.

If you are having issues or questions, the release notes for a given release are definitely a must read, and can be found included with our software. There is a link in the start menu, under Lavastorm/LAE <version>/Documents/LAE Release Notes.pdf
