Adding a note in case others run into the same issue. Turns out that the LAL portion of the installer did not execute. I was missing lal1.brg (among other BRG's) and also the entire 'lal' directory in the lib/java/ directory. Running the LAL installer separately fixed the issues. Power R nodes (including 'R Library Package Download' node) are now working.
