This issue is generally seen if one of the cells within the Excel spreadsheet contains an invalid value - or an invalid formula, or a formula which evaluates to something like NaN (Not a Number).

Try setting the CellErrorAction parameter on the Exception Behavior tab to Log or Ignore.
