    It sounds like some of your BRE settings have been lost.
    In BRE, go to Tools->Preferences->Display Modes.
    In the "Modes" list on the left hand side, select the Mode you are using when viewing the Graph (not library) in BRE (this is normally "Edit").
    Then, in the preferences for that display mode, in the "Show" section, ensure that "Record Counts" is checked.
