    The Scenario: When using a DB query node to execute a set of UNION statements gives me one set of data with X amount of records.

    Splitting the statements into 3 separate nodes gives me more records collectively. Same exact code is being used.

    Without seeing the code and data, that would be my guess...can you post the nodes in question? Even then, without the data, not sure I will be able to tell. Can you run a duplicate detector on both results, or even better, have you isolated the records that are in one but not the other?
