In the BRD Viewer go to Preferences -> Parametrize Examine Format.

Unset this value, then you should be ok.

It is in the Preferences menu in the BrdViewer application, not in the Node Editor inside BRE. The BrdViewer is the application that actually creates the Examiner node, so it needs to be configured to create it differently. You won't be able to change existing Examiner nodes, but new ones will be created differently.
