The icons/nodes are either very small or very large, depending on the size of the screen display. Prior to my mishap, the nodes were not resized with the screen. It sounds like you have your "Zoom" setting to "Auto".
You can change this back to "100%" and your icons shouldn't resize.

You can change this via the far-right drop-down menu in the BRE toolbar.
