I often have a lot of sheets in the output and many times I need to change the order of the sheets multiple times before the report reaches its final form. Currently I have to change the sheet order on the template but that's an easy drag&drop task, however, I should preferably not need to reconfigure the excel output in BRE after that so I wonder if it is possible to use sheet name instead of sheet index number as reference in outputspec in outputIndex attribute (or is there another attribute that could be used to achieve this)?

This is not currently allowed within the Output Excel or Append Excel file nodes.
I have raised an enhancement request to allow for specifying inputName and outputName in the sheet element of the OutputSpec parameter to do this.

This has been raised as issue 4935.
