Data needs to be accessible to all applications, but ensuring that data is accurate is a critical first step before orchestration can occur. A spatial repository with clean data can drastically improve business processes.

The biggest challenge in automating process is getting access to the data. Sadly some software vendors restrict access to your data. This means automation can sometimes be restricted. First ensure when you consider technologies that you have full control and access of your data. Ensure that they allow other technologies to access this data. Also consider technologies that don’t dictate the use of a specified file format or their standard. When they say it means a recognised standard that mean you can manage it effectively test it make sure it does. In our case OGC standards, when Software vendors say they are OGC compliant test them.
