  • 1.  What is the allowed maximum volume of data in a query?

    Posted 03-01-2023 01:42

    Hello All,

Can someone please, assist me with this case?

I am trying to retrieve data from SAP S4 Hana, table MARC via Winshuttle. The file has about 113000 rows, which is a lot, but not the world. But, even if I limit the rows to 5000 (which is extremely little if you need large amounts of data), I still get the following error message: "The query exceeds the allowed Maximum length."

Question:  What is the allowed maximum volume of data in a query?

    Thanks in advance.

    Marcel

    Hi Marcel

We don't impose any limits in the amount of data extracted. If extracted to Excel, it has 1M row limits, and SAP may have some limits on run time.

Can you please share your query?  We might impose limits on the actual query.  For example the number of values in an IN operator.   Support article on this topic as an example: Customer Community

is this from when you are running a query using the parameter of "in" using a dynamic lookup list?

i get the same, there is definately a limit on the number of items you can search for in a dynaic list, i just dont know if that is a SAP limitation or Winshuttle, but i can get away with about 2000.

if you are trying to query more data could you get what you need using a transaction to extract?

    Hello Sigrid,

Sorry that it took me long to reply you. I had to request the query and the script from the end user first.

He just sent them to me. You will find them as an attachments.

    Kind regards,

    Marcel
