  • 1.  reduce polygon count for KML export

    Hello,

I have large Coverage maps which comes into polygons like below.
The issue is the KML file is way to big and takes a very long time to export.

I'd like to reduce the size.
First I tried to combine columns, it works but still the polygon count is still too large.
I am happy to decrease resolution, group polygons or wipe some... but I am not sure how to do this.

Do you have any example or experience is dealing with this please?

KML is a very inefficient format for large files, numerous objects, etc.  It's really meant for quick displays in Google Earth.  If it truly has to be in KML format, then you'll need to start combining objects (Combine by Column) and aggregating data so you're basically dissolving smaller objects with same attributes into others to reduce number of polygons and nodes.  You can also use Snap\Thin to reduce number of nodes, but beware of how much you change the actual polygons as they might not line up over same areas as they did earlier.
