  • 1.  Scheduled scripts directed to different data files dynamically

    Posted 09-26-2025 06:43

Is there a way to point a scheduled T Code script to a particular template. ? Let me explain the use case.

In a script we can save a particular data file name.

When that script is scheduled it will then look for that data file name when it executes.

However if i have filenames/templates that have a data time stamp on them, the scheduled script will not be able to find them and process them because the script will always be looking for the data file that was saved when the script was last saved.

So if i have the following....

    MM02_Update_Basic1.Txr(Script)

and it has a template / data called

    MM02_Update_Basic1.xls

And then i have the script scheduled....it will find that template , run the script,...Great !

However if i have users providing data on a daily basis...I might have templates as follows ...

    MM02_Update_Basic1_20250901.xls

    MM02_Update_Basic1_20250902xls

    MM02_Update_Basic1_20250903xls

Is there any way to direct the scheduled script to say....although youve been saved with data file MM02_Update_Basic1.xls - this time i actually want you to look at this template...MM02_Update_Basic1_20250901.xls

Hopefully thats clear ? Any help appreciated

    Hi Russel,

My understanding is that it will always look for the template embedded in the original script for execution. However before scheduling the query one has an option to select another template so that it can be picked up for publishing results manually:

Also, there are some advance settings which can append the user name, date/timestamp to the extracted data template on a schedule to make it unique using the advanced settings feature:

    Hope this helps!
