Hi David
There are some tweaks that can be applied to controlling the sort order of a layer in MapInfo Pro. But they won't work as you are looking to maintain this sort order in Spectrum Spatial Analyst too.
Have you tried posting this question in the Spectrum Spatial forum? Maybe they can come up with a solution that works. You may be able to use translucency in Analyst to solve this but I'm not sure. It won't work in MapInfo Pro as the translucency is applied to the entire layer which is too late in the rendering stage.

Subject: Layer Theme Ordering
I have a polygon table with records which overlap. Is there anyway to order the records so they display in a certain way if they overlap. I would like a solution which does not involve splitting the table, creating database views or styling the records without solid fill. This layer will be uploaded to SSA and should retain the theme as I have styled in mapinfo
. Thanks
