Each EnterWorks instance has two or more workers configured to process background jobs for imports, exports, promotions, mass-edits, etc. In some environments, jobs may be delayed due to the unavailability of workers. In other environments, one or more of the workers may never or seldom be utilized. The worker usage patterns are likely to evolve over time and vary on a day-by-day basis, making it difficult to determine whether an appropriate number of workers have been configured. If there are too few workers, then jobs may be unnecessarily delayed. If there are too many workers, then costly resources could be freed or redistributed by reducing the number of workers.
This session describes how to determine whether the number of configured workers is appropriate based on actual usage.
