  • 1.  Creating polygons from an excel table

    Hi

Does anyone know if it is possible to create polygons in Mapinfo (v15) using data from an Excel sheet which has the following form...

...so a row for each point of the polygon. Can I do this by importing the table into Mapinfo and using a tool or is further processing required first e.g. manipulating the data in the sheet to resemble wkt geometry?

    Thanks
    Chris

    Hi Chris

MapCAD has a tool for this but it does require a few more columns - or at least one, the order.
It has been described in this post by our support team: Creating Lines from a Table of Points in MapInfo Pro

I have also attached Connect the Dots which allows you to convert a table of points to a polyline/polygon.
Connect the Dots does require the records to have points so you will need to create points from the Eastings/Northings before running Connect the Dots.
