  • 1.  Calling Automate Studio from a Command Line prompt

    Posted 09-26-2025 06:33

In previous versions , the documentation stated that we could call Winshuttle from a CMD line and pass parameters to it which specified the template name, the script name and additional stuff like what to do with errors and so on.

This seems to have been a little known feature and wonder if it still exists in the newest release and if there is any documentation or example that would help?

    Morning Russel,

This should be applicable to latest versions of Studio as well:

I have similar problem. Running local solution (Transaction/Query) with console doesn't seem to work "as it used to" after upgrading to Automate Studio 25.1:

The error message if trying to run locally is:

    Hi Markku

Can you please share the command line you are trying to run?

The documentation for Studio with Evolve command line execution is here: https://help.precisely.com/r/t/1016755954/2023-12-31/Automate-Studio/Evolve/Latest/en-US/Automate-Studio-with-Evolve-User-Guide/Run-a-Transaction-solution-from-the-command-line

One thing you might notice is the new executable name: Automate.Studio.Console.exe instead of Winshuttle.Studio.Console.exe

Please note I still have the Winshuttle.Studio.Console.exe because I have been upgrading instead of doing a new install.

Please let us know on your command line parameters.

    Best Regards,

    Sigrid

We were able to resolve this issue. The console doesn't work with Evolve when using SAML authentication.

We switched to Studio Administrator and it works now.

    Hi Markku

Thanks for sharing the resolution. I was going to ask about authentication and also about the Evolve settings (if the script resides on Evolve) next.

    Best Regards

    Sigrid
