This paper provides links to a number of telco related studies including one on spatial network rollout's, cost's, politics and an array of other implications that will effect future telecommunications networks.

One comment made states "In mobile and wireless, there has also been limited explicitly spatial modelling of the potential rollout of new technologies."   As this article is nearly one years old, I'd be interested to understand if you feel this has changed in the last 12 months?  I think that there has been a significant increase in spatial modelling for network role out considering factors such as network densification and associated issues such as that of interference through to analysis of geomarketing and business data for determining and validating 5G business cases.

What are your observations?  Have you seen any changes in the way this type of modelling is being done in regard to high speed broadband and 5G rollout plans?
