Hello everyone,
We're setting up a new environment in a customer and one of the requirements is the failover with hot-standby, where only one server is active at any given time in an active/passive cluster.
Has anyone in this forum implemented this architecture?
Follows our approach so far:
- We have 2 servers, one for Production (active) and another one for Disaster Recovery (passive), they're running on Azure, in the same network. Also, we have an Azure File Share attached to both servers. On the top of the solution we have a load balancer.
- We're planning to install the Analyze in the Production server and configure to save the "data" and "temporary" files in the Azure File Share. After that, we'll install the Analyze in the Disaster Recovery server, and configure to save the "data" and "temporary" files in the same directory on the Azure File Share.
- As the licence is attached to the hostname and IP, we'll change the Disaster Recovery server hostname to the same as the Production Server. In case of disaster cenario, we'll de-attach the Network Interface from the Production Server and attach it in the Disaster Recovery Server.
Will it work as expected? Any suggestions, ideas, documentation or best practice to follow?
Has anyone done something similar?
