MapInfo Pro Advanced has some fantastic raster tools aided by the new(ish) MRR format that is limitless in size and gives awesome performance. I have enjoyed loading and merging gigabytes of LiDAR terrain data. Now I have been merging tif files of Ordnance Survey VML data. Each tile is 5km square - so why have 2,600 files to handle when you can have 1 MRR file of 16GB covering the north of England (and a bit more).
