  • 1.  Happy New Year!

Happy new year! For most of NZ, I think the brilliant weather held out for most of the holiday period, there are definitely a few sun-kissed faces back here in the office this week! For those of you who are now battling floods and the fallout from the recent bad weather, you have our best wishes.

I'm excited about what's coming in 2018 - hopefully you are too! 2018 will see the NZ Census taking place. This is the best source of a complete picture of the NZ population that we get, it only happens every 5 years so the updates are always very welcome. It will be very interesting to analyse the shift in population in relation to the earthquakes - are people heading back to the Christchurch area, or are they staying away?

SSA continues to be popular, with more and more people choosing to implement this easy to use web mapping solution. I've been having great fun playing with MapInfo Professional Raster lately - the possibilities are endless and the insights it gives you into your data are second to none. Of course, v17 of MapInfo Professional is due for release early this year. Those who have been involved in the beta testing are quite excited about this release!

Let us know what you're up to this year in the spatial world.
